I went from the 300D to the 30D. Great decision, IMO. The ergonomics of the 30D and the ISO 3200, spot meter, and 5fps over the 350D are just a few the improvements, unless you just prefer a smaller body (the 30D and 300D are about the same size, but the 350D is smaller).
