If the bride & groom have specifically asked you to do the 'around shots' then by all means go and do so. The pro may still resent you, though. Even if you're picture taking has been explained nicely. Even if by the bride & groom themselves...

About the actual photos: I get the impression you've already decided that flash as auxiliary light is necessary here. It's after sundown, I take it? Shame, 'cause you have the gear and experience for images without flash. But anyway, I'd use the Sigma 18-50 F2.8, set ISO 400, aperture priority ('Av') to F/4, and I'll let a real Nikonian chime in here for the settings for the SB600 on top.

Remember: the SB600's effective range is 15 to 21 feet, max!
