I have a 300D and a 30D and offer the opinion that the 30D is worth several times the older model which suffered from some poorly selected hampered features. The 350D is in the middle and still much better than the 300D so the question would be how much more the 30D will cost you and whether you feel the need for the better build and convenient rear dial control of the 30D. I have no idea about the used market since I kept the old camera as a backup but I'd probably feel lucky to get $250 for a 300D.
