Hi MikLav, yes, this seems to be the behavior of the Sigma EF-500 DG Super (I have two and they both do it). I also tried manual, hoping it would work, but it seems to use more than the middle contact to communicate.
So far I've just been living with it, and since both of my Sigma's are old and getting flaky anyways,
I think it's time to get another flash. Will probably go with a Canon this time - I just wish it wasn't
such an expensive solution.
