Am I the only one that find it strange that it doesn't? In my opinion few people really a wide aperture 70-300 (as most people are satisfied with the cheaper, run-of-the-mill 70-300), few people are willing to pay for a 300mm f/2.8 prime, and less and less people are willing to pay for a VR-less 300mm lens.

Anyway, here's hoping that Nikon or Sigma puches out such a lens...
