I have some optical slaves, for these I need to re-boot my 580' after EVERY shot, I also have some e-Bay "Poverty Wizards", these work fine.

Yes, but it depends on how you intend to use them. The ST is not for "all" shooting situations. Outdoors, the ST is unreliable.
You should highly consider an alternate trigger like the PW's.
