The real question here is whether or not $8K is really all that much for the camera depending on what features the body has. Canon's recent introduction at the high megapixel count is selling at roughly the $8K price.
Of course it won't have 8 fps and such... that's why I said it likely will have a D300 like feature set but at the higher mp count.
Getting back to my other point... Is $8K really that high of a price point? Think about the cost of studio shooting, sets, props, computer systems, lighting, etc .etc etc... and then $8K is not a lot given other alternatives available at that level. What's a leaf going to cost? Hassleblad? Mamiya with a digital back at 24 megapixels? All options are $10K + if not double that.
