I'd hesitate to call it "weatherproof" after using one for two years. It's a nice bag for the money but not really structured for "offroad" use or heavier lenses.

I switched to a Lowepro Nature Trekker II AW for hiking. It's massive but extremely comfortable and can take heavy downpours with the external bag that's wrapped around it (stored underneath when not used).

For the OP, I use a Tamrac MAS system, with the Pro Digital Zoom 9 (5629). It will fit a body with a 70-200/2.8 attached, although it doesn't work well with the lens hood. I also have two extra large lens cases (5379) and a hip belt. Again, the lens cases will fit a 70-200/2.8 but have trouble with the hood.

The advantage of the system is that the lens cases can attach directly to the holster or be removed and each element can be attached directly to the hip belt. The hip belt is extremely easy to hike in, especially rock hopping in the Southwest. I usually have a lens mounted on the camera, a lens in one of the cases and a water bottle in the other.
