Switch the camera off before changing the lens. This reduces the static charge on the sensor and stops it attracting dust.

And yet the sensor sits behind the metal shutter. I don't mind cleaning my sensor regularly. It's a matter of routine to me, but I don't believe the "preventive" steps here.
