Default Batch Saving in .psd when scanning into PSD CS2 from 9000 ED?

I have a nice work flow going now, on my old historic photos from Berlin of the 60s. I am finally scanning and posting them, now that the internet and computers have reached a level where at least some who own better monitors, etc., can see hese photos in some halfway decent quality. Most, not all, were taken with the Messraster focusing device.

I batch scan two strips at once into the 9000 ED. But then I have to individually save each one into .psd format, which goes fairly quickly, but is a nuisance.

Can I program anything to save the scans in .psd format during the scans? How?

I could scan in Nikonscan separate from PS, batch save into tiff format during the scan, and be able to work in PS at the same time. But are there ANY disadvantages to saving into TIFF format over .psd format? .psd was described to me by Adobe Tech support as a form of raw-type format. Does Tiff have any disadvantages?

What would anyone experiencded in this recommend?

I have SF-AI Studio, also, and even own Vuescan, which I have not yet used seriously.

Oh, BTW, I use a MAC.

Thanks,

Mark
