Default Re: Nikon Super Wide Angle-Telephoto AF Zoom Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF A

You mean you had the 28-200

The 18-200 is the new VR lens isn't it?

There are a number of top rated "G" model lenses.

The designation of "G" on the lens merely indicates that the lens has no aperature ring and therefore cannot be used with some older Nikon bodies.

There are a few clearly superior "G" lenses.

Nikon 12-24 f/4 G ED

Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 AF-S G ED

Nikon 200 f/2 G ED IF AF-S VR

Nikon 300 f/2.8 G ED IF AF-S VR

Nikon 17-55 f/2.8 G ED IF AF-S

Nikon 200-400 f/4 G ED IF AF-S VR

And the jury is still out on the Nikon 105 f/2.8 G ED IF AF-S VR Micro Nikkor

Not to mention I'm a real fan of the Nikon 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 G ED AF-S.... a super sharp lens.
