Thank you very much, Bob!
Thanks, Tony. I haven't had much luck this year so far with the BF's. Maybe in a couple of weeks things will improve. Thanks, Martin! ![]() It is a beautiful creature, that's for sure. |

Day 251 of 365
One of the things I have bragged on about myself for years, long before I started this 365, is that 99.9% of the time I have a camera with me. I am usually never more than a few feet away from mine no matter where I am. Tonight that 1/10th of a percent reared it's ugly head and bit me on the butt! Several weeks ago I posted a shot of a carnage of Vultures on an abandoned railroad track taking their ease in the early morning mist. (I don't really know what you call a group of these birds, but I think that a carnage of Vultures just rolls off the tongue in a sort of delicious macabre way, so that's what I am going to call it.) Anyway, tonight Abby and I made ready to go for a quick ride to the river for her run, and I looked at my camera case sitting on the kitchen table and decided that I just didn't have the energy to carry it to the truck again tonight. Lo and behold, as I crossed the RR tracks and looked to my right, there was a carnage of Black Vultures, and two yearling deer standing together without a care in the world. I stopped the truck and automatically reached down for the strap to my camera...Aaaarrwwwggg, it was at home. I told Abby to cover her ears and let loose a couple of colorful adjectives to describe me not having the camera with me. Meanwhile, the two deer stood there looking at me, with the vultures hopping around the feet of the deer evidently having a real ball. Much like the fisherman that tells you about a fish he ALMOST caught, I relay this tale of woe to you tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to dig out an old P&S that is not quite so hard on batteries as my Olympus, and stash it in the truck. I'll not get caught with my pants down again! #1...This is the palest Sunflower I have ever seen. It was growing over by the brush pile at work, and figured I better shoot it before something happens to it. #2...Another of the pale sunflowers. |

UGH! Sorry you missed that. Sounds like you need to buy some rechargables for the Olympus and keep that P&S in your truck at all times. Gorgeouls sunflowers though.

Very nice sunflowers George. Happens to me all the time. Last time I was just going to take a walk around the yard. Looked at the camera and told myself. Self, you need to take the camera. I replied, silly self, nothing to take a photo of right now in the middle of the day. Only be a minute. Got halfway across the yard. Bright shiney WWII B29 came across the sky just a little above tree top level!! Never again.

Pretty sunflowers, George. I did that no camera thing yesterday. I love dragonfly shots. Have not seen many around... yesterday at my daughter's. A bright red dragon fly followed me around all day and kept landing ner me... even once on my arm. No camera with me.
