John, what you say is all true (apart from the laser printer comment ) but you're missing out on a facet that does give pleasure to people and (to me at least) is the most important part of photography.

I previously commented on the hobbyist aspect of printing at home way back in the beginning of this thread, and in fact the only thing holding me back from trying home printing is the capital to do it the right way. That, and I'd rather be out shooting.
