Oh I'm a big chimper, but that's only because it's there . Turning the LCD inwards is a big help in not constantly looking. I don't see any problems with checking the results immediately, but there is a certain satisfaction in trying to get it right using the basic photographic principles, and not seeing the results until you've uploaded the images from your card.
