I tried that in the beginning but could find a drill bit long enough that I could control. When I did find one to use, I couldn't keep it straight enough, even using a Lath with a drill chuck on one end so Out Came the Router Table and Router!!! Even then you have to be very careful not to loose site of where you are working and keeping the Rotor Bit in the middle of your work. once that is done, then you have to be sure everything is aligned correctly when you glue the two halves together. A still rod with some sand paper on the end helps realign the main air passages but you have to be careful with the overall inside diameter!! Changes the Tune or Tone!!
