Editing OK?: Yes
Default PSE 4 jpg VS jpf files

HELP! Help!

I've got a little problem (could be bigger, depending on how to fix it) that I'm hoping somebody can help me with...

I currently use PhotoShop Elements 4.0 as my image editing software... a couple of weeks ago, I took a BUNCH of pictures at a daycare where a friend of mine works. Now some of the parents actually want to buy some of the pictures that I took (I've posted several on here...) last week I went in and sharpened some of the images and reduced the noise in them and sent them off to be printed. After I edited them, I saved them as .jpg files... NOW, I've got another parent that would like some of the pictures, and when I went in to sharpen and reduce noise a bit on these pictures PSE is no longer allowing me to save the images as .jpg files!! It's making me save them under "JPEG 2000" which adds the .jpf at the end of the file name. And it takes much longer to save the file... and then once it's saved that way, I cannot look at it on my computer (unless I open up PSE again) It doesn't show the picture as a thumbnail in my pictures folder either... it just shows a box with JPX across the top of it...

I don't know why it's suddenly changed the "saving" options... I haven't upgraded my program, didn't mess with it's settings, NOTHING. what can I do to get ".jpg" back??

If it's any incentive, I'll give Karma to anyone who can help!!
