It would be a BIG farce if Sony ever left the Minolta mount for all their DSLRs. With so many people out their with Minolta glass and even flash heads, if you get that mount handed to you as new property, you'd be an idiot not to use it. Why reinvent anything on that end?
All Sony has to do is make more sensors, and make them cheaper. Make some other techie things happen,a nd get some good software/firmware for them, and whala, a new DSLR champion could be born. They might have to buy the software from someone like Apple though, since Apple kicked their butts with iTunes.
