Just curious as the last time I used a flute in my Elementry days. (Whoa that was many moons ago)
Ps sometime you can adjust your WB on the camera.
if you were using let say flourecent light the camera has a setting for that setting. but its not always perfect. but pretty close.
Take care now.

Notsotechie,
Each flute takes a couple of days to make because of gluing time and curing time for the sealant I use on them. The lath work also takes about a Half to a full day depending on what shape I want.
As to sound, for an example, three singers can each sing a '"C". Now that note will be the same for each but each singers voice will have a different timber to it. It will sound different like if Sinatra, Dean Martin or Ed Ames all sang a "C", you could tell each voice for its unique sound.
Will the thickness of the wood, the type of wood, how dense the wood is, the slight difference in the 45 degree angle below the read on the leading edge of the air channel, etc. All will make a difference in the sound. Even the inside dia. of the flute, the length etc.
Three of the flutes are from Cedar, a forth is is also cedar but I cut separate pieces, glued them up, cut different angles and then re glued them again to get the designs. That is my flute now and it has a very beautiful voice to it. Nice and crisp but it can also whisper or sustain a note. I love playing it and it gives me more options as to sounds and feelings!
The last part is the person playing. Air control is critical for you can even change the pitch of a note, you can make the flute Mon, sing, cry, Etc. You can express so much feeling via your air control and your fingering. So yes, the person playing makes a huge difference.
There are so many great flute players out there that I am in awe of them. The more I learn, the more humble I become and the less I know!
Hope that helps. Maybe I can find a way to record little piece of music and put it on one of the Off Topic Threads. I'll see.
Thanks for your questions and I hope I have answered them. A true player of an Authentic Native America Flute can tell you and show you more and correct my humble explanations. I am only a guy who has fallen deeply in love with that type of instrument and try to create something of beauty from something from Nature. I prefer to use recycled wood when I can~
