This would have been a perfect time to learn to use RAW. Your camera came packaged with conversion software (DPP) which can adjust color balance quite well and transfer the image to PSP or anything else so you can finish it up anyway you please. Is it worth the extra step? Without question, yes.
The bounce flash suggestion was also good here. We are all being encouraged to switch our lamps to the compact fluorescents anyway. It may not be too long until orange incandescents are only a memory.
