for a pocket sized film camera you might end up using APS sized film, which has lower quality.

I've always felt that having a camera quick at the ready is best to pair with "Instant Gratification". The G9 has the quality, auto settings, and most importantly the LCD to give you that gratification right there, while being at an acceptable image quality.
