Originally the E-1 was around £1500 (say $3000) for the body. Even if the body is 'only' £500, I would expect a decent RAW converter to be part of the deal. It's just another way for manufacturers to rip off the customer. The situation is even worse for Nikon owners as they can't work with NEF files without shelling out.
