I've had all the version from paintshop.
Version 7 is a long time ago, but in my memory it was really good: it was before the corel days and Jasc inc. was developing the program.

In the paintshop fora there is a saying that the even versions are better than the uneven versions.

Corel has just released version XII, that is really nice. The price is about the same as Photoshop elements, but you get somer more functionality.

Best advise: use version 7, if you need more download trials from both Photoshop (elements) and paintshop pro. Then decide wich way to go.
