Kelly,

Contrast range will not enable you to get the sky in good color unless you bring the foreground light value up to Sunny 16 +1. Your meter should show you that easily. The best thing to do here is clone some leaves over the sky that is poking through and get rid of the distracting hot spots.

In the future, also watch out for lens flare that could degrade image saturation.
