Sadly, yes. The Canon G7 handles decent, but lacks RAW capability. Otherwise it'd be close to your specs, maybe a little large.

His needs/wants are a little different than yours, but Nikon guru Thom Hogan decided to proclaim a Compact Camera Challenge following a tirade on the prevalence of lousy, nearly-identical compacts.


I was looking for a compact late last year, and ended up settling on the Fuji F30. It fails your resolution, 28mm wide, RAW categories though. The new F40 is 8 MP, but I have no experience with it and there's probably still no RAW.
