Jay...I strongly advise against Ansel's Zone System, unless you really understand ALL of it. More sophisticated systems actually cannot give more consistent results, becaues the "correct" exposure depends, not on metering, but with what YOU, the photographer, want the results and exposure bias to look like.....but I did like your second paragraph....cheers...Bob
