Hi devinezx9rr,

Yes, to get the same angle of view of say the 28-75 you would need a lens that is 28 / 1.6 = ~18mm to 75 / 1.6 = ~48mm, that is why the new 'kitlenses' are 18-55 ones giving the view of a 28-90 lens...

If you do not need that wide end often, a kitlens (Canon EF-18-55 F3.5-F5.6 II, preferably the USM version) new for ~$150, cheaper 2nd hand , can be a good and cheap alternative.

...and outdoors you can step back, or use a tripod and stitch..
