I am more leaning towards some sort of illustrated look with my images, hyper realism is not essential ( although I try try to make the blends as good as I can , still working though on all aspects of photography and editing, as I am quite new to all of this ).

Regarding hair extraction , as long as the contrast is good between subject and screen the extract filte can make a good starting point. A more timeconsuming methid is the Russell Brown way by using one of the channels as a starting point for a layer mask. I have heard good things about Primatte and the Fluid Mask software seems able to to a good job, but I havent tried one of those.
